Location

The small 11th Century bastide town of Lisle sur Tarn, with its shops and cafes recessed under colonnades, is 5 minutes by car and is the oldest colonnaded town in the south west of France.

The Tarn Valley, being the land of the Cathars, is typified by walled 13th Century villages overlooking winding rivers and undulating vineyards.

Activities
In the vicinity there is sailing, boating, windsurfing, and canoeing at Aigueleze (near Gaillac); bicycles can be hired from Lisle and the town also has municipal tennis courts and swimming pool.

In the Foret de Sivens (5 minutes away) can be had wonderful walks and the forest itself is renown for its Judas trees, Tamarisk, Paulonais and Accacias. Horse-riding (5 minutes from La Bergerie) is available at the local riding-school and there is plenty of good fishing spots in the area.

The many good local restaurants offer regional and traditional French cuisine and, in the winter, the Pyrenees are only 2½ hours away for skiing.
